Exabytes launches GROW AI strategy and partners with Aurora Mobile to get 1M businesses adopt AI by 2030 – Tech Critter

Exabytes has recently concluded its GROW AI Summit 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, marking a shift from helping businesses build a digital presence toward helping them adopt AI securely and at scale. The strategy extends the company’s long-running GROW Digital mission, aiming to move organisations past fragmented AI tools and pilot projects toward integrated applications that improve productivity, customer engagement, decision-making, and overall operations.
Exabyte Grow AI Event (4)The summit drew more than 500 business owners, C-suite executives, technology leaders, and public-sector stakeholders to discuss moving from AI interest to practical execution, with contributions from Amazon Web Services, Lark, Aurora Mobile, Moka AI, Sangfor, EasyParcel, Aegis Cloud, AITraining2U, and Forward College, spanning cloud infrastructure, enterprise AI, workplace collaboration, HR, cybersecurity, commerce, implementation, and talent development. Sessions covered modernising infrastructure, integrating AI into daily workflows, protecting business data, and preparing workforces for scalable AI adoption, along with discussions on closing Malaysia’s implementation and skills gaps, particularly around HR and organisational effectiveness. The event wrapped with a networking session featuring NameStudio, an AI-enhanced domain name discovery service.
Built around the RASA principles, reliable, accessible, scalable, and AI-driven, GROW AI pulls together the company’s existing capabilities across cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, business applications, eCommerce, workplace productivity, automation, and managed AI services, along with Exabytes Commerce’s expertise in AI-powered customer journeys. The goal is helping entrepreneurs, SMEs, large enterprises, and public-sector organizations progress toward AI-enabled growth, part of a broader ambition to empower one million businesses to adopt GROW AI by 2030.
The launch comes as Malaysia pushes its AI Nation 2030 agenda, with businesses under growing pressure to turn AI interest into real implementation. A 2025 study from Ecosystm, done in partnership with Red Hat and supported by the National AI Office, found that only 21% of 133 Malaysian SMEs surveyed had moved beyond AI pilots, while 60 percent pointed to a lack of in-house technical expertise as a major barrier.
Chan Kee Siak, Founder and CEO of Exabytes Group, said the company has spent 25 years helping businesses build the digital foundations they need to grow, and that GROW AI represents the next chapter, helping businesses shift from being digitally present to being intelligently operated. He noted that while orgaonizations understand AI will affect how they compete, many remain unsure where to start or how to implement it securely, and that Exabytes’ role is reducing that complexity by bringing together the technology, infrastructure, and expertise needed to turn AI into measurable outcomes.

On the other hand, Exabytes also signed a 3-year MoU with Aurora Mobile, where the latter’s enterprise AI platform, GPTBots.ai, will be pairing former’s cloud infrastructure, managed services, and regional customer network with Aurora Mobile’s expertise in enterprise AI platforms, AI agents, knowledge management, workflow automation, and AI application development, with plans to jointly build enterprise AI solutions for businesses across Southeast Asia, ranging from AI customer-service and sales assistants for SMEs to enterprise AI agents, intelligent service desks, and hybrid AI infrastructure for larger organisations and government bodies.
The collaboration will also extend to internal AI projects across Exabytes’ business functions, joint customer proof-of-concept programmes, and regional ecosystem-development work, with successful internal applications intended to become repeatable frameworks that can later be offered to customers.
Chris Lo said enterprise AI transformation requires more than deploying a standalone chatbot, noting that organisations need AI connected to their knowledge, workflows, and operational systems, with proper governance and security in place to sustain adoption over time, and that combining GPTBots.ai’s platform with Exabytes’ infrastructure and regional reach is meant to help organisations move from isolated pilots to enterprise-wide adoption that delivers lasting value.
Eric Foo, Deputy CEO of Exabytes Group, added that businesses don’t need to transform every function at once, and can instead start with a clearly defined operational challenge before expanding as their capabilities grow, describing the real challenge as elevating AI adoption from an individual level, where ROI is hard to measure, to a company-wide level with measurable financial outcomes.
The summit marks the start of a broader push to turn the GROW AI strategy into practical implementation support and scalable solutions across Southeast Asia, with Exabytes aiming to combine its regional reach with a partner ecosystem spanning infrastructure, enterprise AI, cybersecurity, commerce, and talent development to reach its goal of empowering one million businesses by 2030.
