As AI becomes increasingly embedded into enterprise platforms and everyday business applications, organizations face a new challenge: ensuring the data powering those systems is trusted, governed, and fit for purpose. In Part 2 of this interview series, David Tuppen, Group Chief Data Officer at Enstar Group, joins Robert Lutton, Vice President at Sandhill Consultants, to discuss what separates organizations that are ready to scale AI from those that are not.
Throughout the conversation, Tuppen argues that AI itself is no longer the differentiator. As capabilities become embedded within platforms such as data warehouses, analytics tools, and productivity applications, the focus for data leaders must shift toward governance, automation, and data quality.
Among the key themes discussed:
Looking ahead, Tuppen believes data leaders should spend less time searching for the next AI solution and more time strengthening their data foundations. As AI becomes a standard feature across enterprise applications, he argues that organizations will succeed not because they have access to AI, but because they have access to high-quality data that enables AI to produce reliable and trustworthy outcomes.
