Richardson Hotel plans change under new management – WGRZ

BUFFALO, N.Y. — New management at the Richardson Hotel is planning a series of changes this year, including the upcoming February removal of a covered entrance installed outside the historic site without proper approvals from preservation officials.
Douglas Development, which gave the up the management contract for the Richardson Olmsted Campus hotel in summer 2025, installed the porte-cochère entrance and a wine cellar and hanging sculptures in the fourth-floor banquet room. They will all be removed under the new management.
Removing the covered entrance will allow the return of an outdoor terrace on the third floor that was closed when the structure was built.
