Sonata Software Appoints Hariprasad Rebala as Chief AI Officer – Machine Maker

Sonata Software Limited has appointed Hariprasad Rebala (Hari) as Chief AI Officer, strengthening the company’s leadership team as it expands its focus on artificial intelligence and moves towards becoming an AI-native enterprise. In his new role, Mr Rebala will lead Sonata Software’s AI-led business transformation and oversee the company’s AI strategy across its offerings, service delivery, platforms, capabilities, partnerships and technology ecosystem. His focus will be on helping enterprises move from AI experimentation to practical business applications that deliver measurable results.
Mr Rebala brings more than 30 years of experience across IT services, enterprise technology and the startup sector. Before joining Sonata Software, he served as Chief of AI Solutions and Growth at a deep-tech AI startup. He was also a co-founder of Forfend, where he worked on IoT and conversational AI platforms.
Earlier in his career, Mr Rebala held senior positions at Mindtree, Capgemini and Wipro. His experience includes building businesses, developing industry practices and managing large technology transformation programmes, particularly in the banking and financial services sector.
Rajsekhar Datta Roy, Chief Executive Officer, Sonata Software, said the appointment would strengthen the company’s efforts to become an AI-native organization. He highlighted Mr Rebala’s combination of startup experience, IT services knowledge and understanding of enterprise AI platforms and engineering.
Mr Rebala said enterprises are moving quickly from AI trials to using the technology as a core part of their operations and competitive strategies. He added that Sonata’s focus would be on developing AI capabilities and platforms with customers and technology partners, with the aim of turning AI investments into measurable business value.
The appointment is part of Sonata Software’s broader plan to integrate AI across engineering, platforms, delivery operations and customer solutions. The company is using its Platformation™ framework to support modernization and AI-led transformation for enterprises.
