Marquis Who's Who Honors Lakeisha Sesay, MPA, for Expertise in Business and Public Administration – 24-7 Press Release Newswire

ATLANTA, GA, August 10, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/Lakeisha Sesay, MPA, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Sesay is recognized for her expertise in management consulting, corporate strategy and change management, having established a distinguished career advancing public-sector innovation and organizational transformation to c-suite leaders and elected officials around the world. As Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Momentum Firm since 2025, she leads a high-impact strategy and organizational consulting enterprise that exclusively serves federal, state and local governments, educational institutions, nonprofits and corporate social impact organizations. Her vision for The Momentum Firm was inspired by her desire to have greater creative influence over consulting projects and clients, as well as to expand humanitarian and pro bono initiatives across the African continent and the Global South. The company was officially incorporated during her first visit to Sierra Leone, her ancestral homeland, reflecting her commitment to global impact.

Prior to founding The Momentum Firm, Ms. Sesay served as a North America Public Sector Leader and Strategy Consulting executive at Accenture from 2023 to 2025. In this capacity, she managed complex projects across the public sector and played a pivotal role in shaping innovative solutions for government clients. Her tenure at Accenture was marked by a landmark achievement in 2022 when she was selected as a Consulting Lead for Atlanta’s new Mayor, Andre Dickens. Amid a surge in violent crime during the COVID-19 pandemic—the highest rates since the early 1990s—Ms. Sesay, then in her late twenties, led the development of Atlanta’s public safety strategy as part of the Mayor’s transition team. She convened community stakeholders and spearheaded research to identify nationwide best practices for balancing effective policing with efforts to address the root causes of crime. Her comprehensive plan integrated root cause solutions with advanced crime-reduction technology and was featured in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. From 2022 to 2025, the implementation of her strategy, along with the administration’s targeted efforts, resulted in a 45 percent decline in violent crime in Atlanta, an accomplishment she regards as life-saving and deeply meaningful.

Additionally, Ms. Sesay launched the Atlanta Corporate Recycling Challenge while at Accenture. Recognizing the environmental impact of corporate technological waste, she coordinated support from major corporations to establish an annual event where companies compete to recycle the most materials on Earth Day and America Recycles Day. All collected materials are processed by the Center for Hard-to-Recycle Materials (CHaRM) in Atlanta, generating sustainable revenue for the organization and diverting millions of pounds of waste from landfills since its inception.

From 2021 to 2023, Ms. Sesay served as public service consulting manager at Accenture, where she continued to drive strategic initiatives across public sector domains such as refugee resettlement, sustainability, economic development and health and human services. She also served as Corporate Citizenship Lead from 2020 to 2025, advocating for impactful partnerships between corporations and government agencies while recruiting professionals passionate about corporate citizenship and community volunteering.

Her earlier roles at Accenture included a public service management consultant from 2019 to 2021, during which she honed her ability to apply general practices across diverse fields, including environmental sustainability and community development.

In 2019, Ms. Sesay expanded her international experience as a strategy and program evaluation consultant with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research in Jeju, South Korea, through her Master of Public Administration practicum. She contributed to program evaluations focused on sustainable development throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

Her commitment to public service began with positions such as government relations advisor at the United Nations Association of the United States of America from 2016 to 2019; programs coordinator at Wholesome Wave Georgia in 2017; economic support specialist II with the State of Georgia in 2016; project manager for urban agriculture with AmeriCorps VISTA in 2016; marketing and outreach coordinator intern at Global Growers Network from 2015 to 2016; cloud advisory trainer and specialist at Vonage from 2014 to 2016; Title I program coordinator intern at Georgia Department of Education from 2013 to 2014; and professional stylist and salesperson at Nordstrom in Atlanta from 2011 to 2013.

Ms. Sesay is an active member of several industry-related organizations, including the Project Management Institute since 2018 and the World Affairs Council of Atlanta since 2016. She has also served as a European Union immigration and social policy analyst with the Ministerio de Defensa Español in 2017.

Her academic background includes earning a Master of Public Administration from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia, in 2019. This advanced degree provided her with critical analytical skills that have been instrumental throughout her consulting career. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in international/global studies from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia, graduating in 2014—a foundation that sparked her interest in global humanitarian issues.

Ms. Sesay has further enhanced her expertise through certifications such as a certified design thinking practitioner from LUMA Institute, earned in 2020, and a community involvement in research certification from Morehouse School of Medicine, obtained in 2016. She currently contributes this expertise in her role as Visting Lecturer of Applied Innnovation at Georgia State University’s Robinson College of Business.

She attributes her success to a strong support system rooted in family values instilled by her parents—immigrants from Sierra Leone who became citizens of the United States in the mid-1980s—and credits her tenacity, courage and spiritual foundation for enabling her to pursue ambitious goals others might consider insurmountable. Her upbringing as a first-generation American shaped her commitment to humanitarian work early on; witnessing poverty firsthand during a diplomatic mission with Captain Planet Foundation further deepened this resolve.

Ms. Sesay’s civic engagement includes serving on the board of Captain Planet Foundation since 2023 and supporting United Way of Atlanta since 2020. She previously held roles such as Director of Workforce Development at Just Bakery of Atlanta in 2018; Medicaid Policy Compliance Auditor with the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities also in 2018; and Volunteer Interim Director for the Life Skills Program at the International Rescue Committee beginning in 2014.

Her achievements have been recognized through honors such as the Corporate Social Impact Award from the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in 2022; the Global Learning Scholarship from Kennesaw State University in 2017; the Model African Union National Award for Best Delegate of the Executive Council in 2014; and the Global Engagement Certification with Distinction from Kennesaw State University in 2019.

Born in Atlanta, Ms. Sesay enjoys traveling, visiting museums, collecting art and exploring fashion. Looking ahead, she is committed to expanding The Momentum Firm’s influence through thought leadership, advancing innovative work in artificial intelligence and self-service analytics for clients—particularly in government and public-sector contexts—and continuing her legacy as an industry leader dedicated to responsible progress.
