CWRU Law launches cybersecurity and data privacy specialization – National Jurist
This addition reflects the evolving needs of today’s regulatory landscape and the growing demand for professionals trained at the intersection of law, technology and risk management.
“In an era of escalating cyber threats and evolving data privacy regulations, understanding cyberspace is no longer optional — it’s essential,” said Eric Chaffee, professor and director of the Compliance Risk Management and Financial Integrity Institute at CWRU Law. “The Cybersecurity and Data Protection Specialization positions graduates at the forefront of this high-stakes field.”
This new specialization joins a growing suite of CRM options first approved by the university’s board of trustees in 2020, including existing specializations in healthcare, business finance, intellectual property and environmental regulation.
The program will equip students with the legal and practical knowledge to navigate an ever-changing regulatory environment, address real-world data privacy concerns and design effective cybersecurity compliance programs.
