It is a guaranteed income initiative for parents or legal guardians caring for African American, Native American and Native American children ages 0-5.
Applications for the pilot program opened on September 30, 2024, and closed on October 13, 2024, when participants began to be randomly selected, while in mid-December 2024 authorities will begin distributing the guaranteed income of $725 for 12 months, via direct deposit into their bank accounts.
The Sacramento County Department of Child, Family and Adult Services website states that the first requirement is to live in the following zip codes: 95815, 95821, 95823, 95825, 95828, 95838.
Applicants must have an annual household income of less than 200% of the federal poverty line (FPL). Annual household income is calculated by adding up the income or wages of all household members before taxes. It does not include any government benefits you may receive.
