Hungary, Budapest: Jan Prins, managing director of Ganz Transformers and Electric Rotating Machines Ltd., will leave the company at the end of 2024, and his responsibilities will be taken over by co-managing director Gergely Gál. After Ganz’s 2020 reorganisation, the heavy machinery manufacturer has implemented energy efficiency and production technology improvements, setting it on a new path and it now expects further growth in the future.
The change comes after the successful achievement of business targets set in recent years. In addition to his current duties, Gergely Gál will be responsible for the company’s sales activities and the business growth in international markets.
Gál and Prins have held the position of managing directors since 2021, after the company became 100% Hungarian-owned in 2020, after over 15 years. Ganz has undergone a complete overhaul and has increased its sales in all three business areas, Transformer, Rotating Machines, and Service, in domestic and international markets. Last year, its turnover reached €71.55 million, and almost 50% came from international orders. Prins took part in the reorganisation, management, and development of the company and was instrumental in restoring its recognition.
“Ganz’s mission, vision, according to which we manufacture our products based on European values and with outstanding professional experience, define Ganz’s identity. The management and professional staff of the company will continue to focus on combining tradition and innovation, producing high quality and unique products,” Gergely Gál commented.
“I am proud and grateful to have been part of the management of Ganz, a company with a unique tradition in Hungary, as managing director during perhaps the biggest transformation in decades. At the same time, I am confident that market trends will continue to support Ganz’s development objectives in the future,” Jan Prins added.
