Ministry launches digital strategy at EdTech Summit – Khmer Times

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport officially announced the implementation of the Digital Education Strategy for Schools at the 1st Cambodia Education Technology (EdTech) Summit yesterday at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC).
The EdTech Summit held yesterday and today, under the theme “Cambodia’s Pathway to Digital Education,” was organised by the Education Ministry.
Education Minister Hang Chuon Naron highlighted the importance of organising the summit, to promote digital education by disseminating the Digital Education Strategy to schools, and providing an opportunity for stakeholders to discuss, share knowledge, and explore advancements in educational technology.
The event also aims to gather input for the development of the EdTech Framework and Cambodia’s Digital School Framework. Additionally, it will feature an exhibition showcasing educational technology from more than 50 public and private institutions.
He added that the summit also includes a competition for teachers who creatively integrate educational technology into their teaching, titled “Cambodia’s Most Innovative EdTech Teacher of 2025,” and a digital competency competition where participants can measure their digital skills.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Kim Sothany, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Education, stated that one of the key objectives of this summit is the official launch of the Digital Education Strategy for schools.
The Ministry approved the strategy for schools in June last year, as a guide document for school teachers on digital education.
Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Education Bo Chankoulika said the initiative aims to promote a digital revolution in teaching and learning.
She added that this strategy is developed based on the framework of the digital revolution in education, empowering schools with autonomy, and ensuring the participation of all relevant stakeholders at both national and sub-national levels, including the public and private sectors. It is grounded in principles of inclusivity and comprehensive analysis, taking into account national, regional, and international experiences.
She added that educational technologies incorporated into this strategy will enhance learning by connecting it to real-world experiences through experiments, enabling learning anytime and anywhere.
