Former Okta And Zuora Tech Chief Alvina Antar Joins F5 As First CDO – Forbes

F5, Inc. CDO Alvina Antar
F5, Inc., a leader in hybrid, multicloud application security and delivery, has appointed Alvina Antar as its first-ever Chief Digital Officer (CDO). Antar joins F5 at an inflection point as the company, which earned $2.82 billion in revenue in fiscal 2024, accelerates its transformation into a software and SaaS enterprise. Based in the Bay Area, Antar brings a wealth of experience to the role, blending business and technical expertise with purpose-driven leadership.
Antar previously served as Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Okta, where she advanced identity-driven security, and as Zuora’s first CIO, shaping the subscription economy. During her 17 years at Dell, Antar led the company’s transition from hardware to software solutions. Reflecting on her career, Antar shared, “F5’s evolution from hardware to software and SaaS mirrors my own professional journey and passion for transformation.”
In her new role, Antar is focused on building a data- and AI-first enterprise. She emphasized building a strong foundation to support F5’s next phase of growth. “Disruptive technologies are key to challenging the status quo and driving business transformation” she said. “Being truly data- and AI-first is central to that mission.” Antar emphasized building meaningful relationships with customers and collaborating with product and engineering on the future of application security.
Over the last year Antar dedicated time with her family and advisory work while remaining abreast of technology trends. “I advise several AI security companies shaping the future of work and bring fresh perspectives to F5,” she noted. This period of reflection and exploration, she explained, renewed her commitment to purpose-driven leadership. “My goal is to inspire others to take risks and seek roles and companies that align with your passion and principles.”
Antar’s expressed admiration for F5’s CEO François Locoh-Donou, whose immigrant journey from Togo deeply resonated with her own Assyrian heritage. “It’s not just about the role and impact; it’s about surrounding yourself with people who inspire, motivate and challenge you and share your values,” she said. Antar also praised the company’s collaborative and innovative ethos. “My success is a representation of who I surround myself with,” she underscored. “F5’s culture is truly special and aligns with my values of humility and seeing vulnerability as a strength.”
As F5 transforms, Antar aims to drive scalable growth through operational velocity, engineering excellence, data-driven decisions and embracing AI as a competitive advantage. “ The intersection of process, technology, data and AI is crucial to bringing a better digital world to life,” she explained. As a past F5 customer, she aims to amplify F5’s story in securing and delivering applications across a distributed hybrid, multi-cloud landscape.
Beyond her professional ambitions, Antar is passionate and committed to eliminating the gender gap in technology and mentoring underprivileged youth. “At this stage in my career, I am determined to shape the future for girls and women in tech while making a meaningful impact in my community,” she shared. “This is the perfect moment to be in technology, especially in the age of AI.”
As Chief Digital Officer, Alvina Antar is set to play a pivotal role in F5’s evolution, combining strategic business insight, technical depth and purpose-driven leadership.
