You’ll learn sought-after skills and network with potential employers in this hands-on program, as the coursework is developed with industry input and industry members actively guide classes. Consider the associate’s degree for all the foundational skills you need to support and maintain IT systems; earn the certificate if you want to add technical skills in IT security.
With this program’s targeted focus on IT security and networking, you’ll learn to protect data and networks from cyber threats by performing penetration testing, assessing security risks and implementing appropriate security measures. 
You’ll gain hands-on experience with routing and switching, server virtualization and private cloud computing environments. You’ll explore the concepts of risk, threats, vulnerabilities, attack vectors and exploits while analyzing known security incidents, and will write and apply policies and security framework controls and countermeasures to decrease risk. 
Coursework will prepare you for the CompTIA Security + and Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT) certification exams. Some courses are enhanced with hands-on lab activities using our Tech Turf virtual lab environment.
