While data is rapidly growing across sectors, it is often not standardized nor easily accessible for all stakeholders. This has motivated the Digital Transformation Office (DTO) of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye to develop a holistic National Data Strategy that can be adopted across society in 2024.
To support the preparation of the National Data Strategy of Türkiye, UNDP’s Türkiye Country Office and Chief Digital Office have provided strategic guidance to design a data governance framework. This research is based on over 40 multi-stakeholder consultations in the country involving public institutions, private companies, academia and NGOs as well as desk research spanning seven countries. The final report outlines key recommendations on how to leverage data collaboratively and responsibly, while demonstrating transparency, stewardship, and excellence.
