Danske Bank appoints two new execs to lead technology and data strategy – FinTech Futures
Denmark’s Danske Bank has appointed two new executives to lead its technology and data strategy.
Danske Bank appoints new technology and data execs
Frans Woelders, chief operating officer (COO) of Danske Bank, took to LinkedIn on Thursday last week to name Richard Davis as the bank’s new chief technology officer (CTO).
The former global head of enterprise services at Swift brings experience in “managing large technology estates and leading technology transformations in international banking”, according to Woelders’ statement.
His appointment sees the departure of Bo Svejstrup, who has held the CTO position at the bank since April 2022.
Woelders also revealed the appointment of Danske Bank stalwart Christoffer Kanstrup as chief data officer. Kanstrup is celebrating two decades at the Danish bank this year.
Joining directly from its central risk leadership and market, liquidity and non-financial risk teams, where he served as executive vice president, Kanstrup says he plans to leverage Danske Bank’s “comprehensive data-driven insights to enhance decision-making processes, drive operational efficiencies and unlock new opportunities for growth and development”.
He takes the reins from Niresh Rajah, who has led the bank’s data strategy since joining last April.
Woelders says the two new appointments will “spearhead the execution of our technology and data strategy”, working to “elevate Danske Bank’s technology and data transformation to new heights”.
This transformation has recently included its go-live with the Backbase Engagement Banking platform in January, and its adoption of Broadridge’s Tbricks solution for trading and market making announced a week later.
